There may be times when your fence may end up with damage that can be easily replaced. Then, there may be times when the fence is getting damage that is caused by its age and/or current state, and the best thing you could do would be to replace it with a new fence. Then, there may be times when a fence that's currently installed can just be the wrong type of fence, so you should consider replacing it with a different one. Here are some signs that you may want to replace the fence you have right now.
Your fence has rust
If your fence has a little bit of rust, then it may be able to be removed and then you can have the fencing protected from further rusting by applying a rust-resistant primer. However, if there is a lot of rusting or if there is also corrosion, then it may be in your best interest to just have the fence replaced with a new one.
Your fence is leaning
A solid fence needs to stand straight. If it starts to lean, then the fence will no longer be strong or dependable. Once the fence is leaning, then this means the integrity of that part of the fence is affected and the best thing that you can do is to replace the affected parts with new fencing. There is no repairing a fence that has gone to the point of leaning. Keep in mind that if the fence is already old or if other problems are also starting to show, then you may want to take the opportunity to replace the entire fence.
Your wood fence is now a different color
While a wood fence can be beautiful looking, this material does have its fair share of weaknesses. Time and weather conditions can affect the wood of the fence, and you will see that it has gone from the great-looking fence that it once was to one that has become a light gray color. When the fence has this coloring, it will tell you that the wood is also weak, and the only way for you to once again have a strong fence will be to have that fence taken down and a new one erected in its place.
Your fence doesn't serve your purposes
The fence you have now may not be the type you need to do the things you want. For example, if you want a privacy fence and you currently have one that doesn't offer privacy, then it will need to be replaced.
